Home & School Association - PTA
Miramonte Christian School cultivates an active Home and School Association, similar to the PTA or PTO found at public schools.
Our Home and School includes all parents, teachers, school administrators, and other interested church members, community leaders and friends. Our primary purpose is to promote communication, involvement, and partnerships between parents, families, teachers, and the church families who send their students to our school. All parents are encouraged to participate in our Home and School activities, and can do so by speaking to one of our Home and School Leaders**. Currently, there is a Facebook Home&School group as well as a YahooGroup. Parents are encouraged to join these groups to keep abreast of Home and School activities, help plan events and programs, as well as have your voices heard regarding school issues.
Our Home and School volunteers initiate programs and activities that strengthen Miramonte's Christian and academic climate. It does this by bringing the school and its families together throughout the year by organizing various activities: Fundraisers, Community outreach projects, Teacher appreciation activities, and much more! Our biggest fundraiser of the year is typically our school walk-a-thon which is coordinated by our Home and School organization. We believe involved parents are vital to producing a quality education, and parental support is a primary factor in the academic success of our children. For this reason, we need for parents and families to stay involved! We strongly urge you to help your student be the best they can be by volunteering your time and talents to your child's school.

Scrip Fundraising
gift cards and online shopping
Scrip fundraising is the easy way to earn money for Miramonte! No more trying to sell wrapping paper, containers of cookie dough, and trinkets galore to family and co-workers, Scrip is just a different way to pay for your everyday purchases like gas, groceries, clothing and eating out, using a Scrip gift card in place of cash, checks, and credit cards!
Scrip gift cards are the same gift cards you can purchase from any retailer. Miramonte’s Scrip coordinator orders the cards from the Great Lakes Scrip Center at a discount, your pay face value for those gift cards and then use them at your usual retailers so you’re fundraising while you shop - grocery, department stores, gas stations, restaurants, hotels, home improvement, give them as actual gifts (holidays, birthdays, Teacher appreciation etc) and more. Just use scrip to pay for your normal weekly purchases and you can easily raise $500 or more per year for Miramonte. It’s time to put your shopping dollars to work!
Even more convenient are the electronic scrip products, like Reload, ReloadNow and ScripNow, where you order when you need and have your scrip automatically sent to your mobile phone at MyScripWallet.com. Fundraising with Scrip is entirely practical, nearly painless, and Miramonte benefits! By simply planning ahead on your everyday purchases, the average family can fundraise at least $11 per week. That modest amount adds up quickly and the more families that participate, the bigger the earnings for Miramonte!

Annual Walk-a-Thon
Home&School sponsors the annual Walk-a-Thon fundraiser held in the fall about the same time as the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists InStep Day (previously known as Let’s Move Day). The Seventh-day Adventist Church has long promoted a message of healthful living by bringing together all the components of a healthy lifestyle, including quality nutrition and daily physical activity to ensure a healthy future for all, especially our children.
